City of Orlando Permitting Services, 400 South Orange Avenue, 407-246-2271, handles demolition inside city limits, while unincorporated addresses go to Orange County. The city packet is one of the longest in our area: notarized application, site plan, written narrative, a rodent control certificate and four utility sign-offs that can take up to 20 business days. Historic districts add a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Board. Trees need a $25 permit on a home lot unless an arborist documents a danger. Debris from every Orlando job goes to the Orange County Landfill at 5901 Young Pine Road, at $42.70 a ton, which we pay.

- Orlando has six historic districts and close to 50 landmarks. Tearing down a building in one of them needs a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Board before any permit is issued, and that review still applies after the August 2026 downtown moratorium.

- Orlando requires a tree removal permit ($25 for a home). No permit is needed on a home lot if a certified arborist documents the tree is a danger. Replacement trees go in within 60 days.
- Where does demolition debris from Orlando go?
- The Orange County Landfill at 5901 Young Pine Road is the only county site that takes demolition debris. The McLeod Road and Porter transfer stations do not. The tip fee is $42.70 a ton as of October 1, 2026, and we haul and pay it as part of the job.
