Concrete & Driveway Removal
in Orlando, FL

Orlando driveways often sit on narrow infill lots, with a neighbor's fence on one side, a mature oak on the other and parked cars on the street. Getting the concrete out without cracking the sidewalk or tearing up the tree roots is most of the job. We break it, haul it to the Orange County Landfill and grade the base, at $2 per square foot.

How it works

Getting concrete & driveway removal done in Orlando

Step 1

Size the machine to the lot

We measure the driveway and the space beside it, then bring a machine that fits your Orlando lot, so we are not driving over the neighbor's yard or the root zone of your oak.

Step 2

Break, load and haul

Broken concrete loads straight into our trucks and goes to the Orange County Landfill on Young Pine Road. The $42.70 a ton tip fee is paid by us and included in the price.

Step 3

Grade the base for the new pour

We grade and compact the base for your new concrete, pavers or ribbon strips, and cut the edge at the street and sidewalk clean so your next crew has a straight line.

The Mintel Difference

Working a driveway on a tight Orlando lot

In College Park, Conway, Azalea Park and the Hourglass District, a lot of homes have a single lane driveway running past the house, with little room for a machine to turn. We pick equipment sized to fit between the house and the property line, and we plan the order of work so our dump truck can load from the street without blocking the road all day.

The Census puts the median year built for Orlando homes at 1992, and a lot of the older neighborhoods are far older than that. That means plenty of driveways have been patched, overlaid or poured over older concrete. We expect to find more than one layer, and we price the job after we see the slab, not off a photo. The rate stays $2 per square foot with a 500 square foot minimum, hauling included.

Trees, roots and the city tree permit

Big trees and old driveways go together in Orlando, and roots are often the reason a driveway cracked in the first place. When the slab comes up, we keep the machine off the root zone of trees you are keeping and cut the edge cleanly instead of ripping roots out with the concrete.

If a tree has to come out to widen or reroute a driveway, the City of Orlando requires a tree removal permit, $25 for a home, and replacement trees go in within 60 days. A home lot needs no permit when a certified arborist documents the tree is a danger. We tell you early if your plan touches a tree, so the permit does not hold up the new pour. It is far easier to sort out before the concrete comes up than after.

Where the debris goes

The Orange County Landfill at 5901 Young Pine Road is the only county site that takes demolition debris. The McLeod Road and Porter transfer stations do not. The tip fee is $42.70 a ton as of October 1, 2026, and we haul and pay it as part of the job.

Orlando homes

Half the homes in Orlando were built in 1992 or earlier (U.S. Census, American Community Survey). Newer neighborhoods mean more pool removals, slab tear-outs and pad prep than full teardowns.

Rules and fees checked against official sources in October 2026. Cities change them, so we confirm with City of Orlando Permitting Services before every job.

Orlando FAQ

Common questions

Can you remove my driveway without hurting the oak tree next to it?
We can usually protect it. We keep the heavy machine off the root zone as much as the lot allows, break the slab toward the work area, and cut roots cleanly only where we have no choice. If the new driveway plan means the tree has to come out, Orlando requires a tree removal permit, $25 for a home lot.
Do you need to block the street to haul the concrete away?
On most Orlando streets, no. We park the dump truck at the curb, load from the driveway, and move it out between loads so neighbors can get by. On very narrow streets we keep the truck out for the shortest time possible, and we talk to you about timing so you can give the neighbors a heads up.
What if there is old concrete under my driveway?
It happens a lot in older Orlando neighborhoods, where driveways were overlaid instead of replaced. We break and haul every layer, then grade the base to the depth your new driveway needs. Since we price per square foot after seeing the slab, a second layer does not turn into a surprise charge halfway through.
What does concrete & driveway removal cost in Orlando?
We break the slab fast with the right machine, haul every piece off, and leave the ground graded. Driveways and aprons usually run around $2 a square foot depending on thickness and access. Every property is different, so the only honest number is one we give you after walking the site. Call 407-443-2863 for a free, no-obligation estimate in Orlando.
