Protecting the property along the edges

We saw a clean edge where new work meets old, lay down protection where the trucks travel, and keep the machine on the slab instead of the lawn whenever we can. The Census puts the median year built for Windermere homes at 1989, so many of these driveways have been in place for decades and run deeper under the landscaping than they look. We would rather find that edge with a saw than with the machine.
Hauling a long driveway out of the Butler Chain
A long estate driveway means a lot of concrete, and a lot of truckloads. It all goes to the Orange County Landfill at 5901 Young Pine Road, the only county site that takes demolition debris, at $42.70 a ton as of October 1, 2026. We run our own trucks and that fee is inside our price, which is $2 per square foot with a 500 square foot minimum.
On lakefront lots along the Butler Chain of Lakes, we also watch where the dust and wash water go. The chain is an Outstanding Florida Water, so we keep slurry and loose fines on the lot and out of any drain or slope that runs toward the lake. Before we leave, the drive, the street and the curb are swept, so the only sign we were there is a clean base ready for the new surface.

- Will you damage my landscape lighting and irrigation?
- We work to avoid it. Before the machine starts, we walk the driveway with you and flag lights, wiring, sprinkler heads and lines that run along the edge. We saw cut the borders and break toward the center. If something buried is not where anyone expected, we stop and tell you instead of digging through it.
- Can you remove pavers or stamped concrete too?
- Yes. We take out plain concrete, stamped concrete, and pavers along with their base, and haul all of it off. Pavers sometimes sit on an old slab, which we find often on Windermere homes built in the 1980s and 1990s. We price after we see what is underneath so the number holds.
- How do you keep concrete dust out of the lake?
- On Butler Chain lots we keep wash water and fines on the property, away from any drain or slope that runs to the water. The chain is an Outstanding Florida Water, which means the state allows no drop in water quality, so we treat runoff seriously even on a driveway job.
