Digging around septic systems and drainfields
A septic drainfield is a set of buried lines that lets water soak into the ground. It does not handle the weight of a loaded excavator or dump truck well, and a trench cut through it can break the lines. - We start with any septic permit drawing you have, then look for the tank lid, cleanouts and the strip of lawn that stays greener or drier than the rest. If the location is still unclear, we recommend a septic contractor locate it before we dig. Sunshine 811 does not mark private septic systems, so this step is on us and you.
- Can you trench a power or water line down to my dock?
