Lake County
Demolition & Excavation
in Clermont, FL
Clermont's rolling hills are unusual for Central Florida, and they make grading and build-ready pads a real skill here. We cut and compact pads on sloped lots, remove pools and concrete, and prep sites for new construction across the city's fast-growing south end.
Sloped lots need an operator who grades for drainage — we run these jobs ourselves. Response in Clermont is fast — typically within a day or two.

Working in Clermont
Young houses on hilly, sinkhole-prone ground
Clermont does not look like the rest of Central Florida. The hills roll, lots slope, and the city has grown fast, especially on the south end around Kings Ridge, Lost Lake and Hartwood Marsh. The Census median build year is 2005, so most of the housing is young. That shapes the work we get called for here: build-ready pads cut and compacted on sloped lots, pools and concrete coming out of newer yards, and site prep for new construction. The ground itself adds a layer of care. These hills are sinkhole-prone, and a sinkhole 40 to 50 feet across collapsed part of a resort building here in 2013. So we grade for drainage, compact fill in lifts, and stop to look when the soil does not act right.
Clermont permits, trees and the Tavares haul
City of Clermont Building Services works out of City Hall at 685 W. Montrose St, 352-241-7315. Parcels outside city limits go to Lake County instead, even with a Clermont address. A city demolition permit needs a notarized owner affidavit and two plot plans showing buildings and wells, silt fence, and the lot sodded or seeded right after. Tree work is its own permit here, required even in a home yard, $25 regardless of tree count. All demolition debris goes to the Lake County Central Solid Waste Facility in Tavares, where clean concrete is billed at a lower rate than mixed loads.

Only in Clermont
- The demolition permit in Clermont does not cover tree clearing, so on a lot that needs both we pull both.
- Clermont hills sit on sinkhole-prone ground. A 40 to 50 foot sinkhole collapsed part of a resort building here in 2013, which is why we grade for drainage and compact in lifts instead of just pushing dirt.
Rules and fees checked against official sources in October 2026. Cities change them, so we confirm with City of Clermont Building Services before every job.
