Structure Demolition
in Eustis, FL

Before the City of Eustis issues a demolition permit, every utility on the lot has to sign off. Electric, phone, gas, water and sewer each get their own letter, and a well or septic tank adds the Health Department. Mintel Land Management collects that stack, handles asbestos under state law, and takes the house down to a clean lot.

How it works

Getting structure demolition done in Eustis

Step 1

Collect utility sign-offs

We list every utility serving the lot, tell you which disconnects need your call, and gather the electric, phone, gas, water and sewer sign-offs the Eustis checklist requires.

Step 2

Well, septic and asbestos

If there is a well or septic system, we get the Health Department sign-off. If asbestos is present, it is handled under Florida Statute 469 with the DEP notice filed in time.

Step 3

Teardown and the Tavares run

With the permit issued, our crew takes the structure down, loads it on our own trucks, hauls it to the Lake County facility in Tavares and leaves the lot graded clean.

Five utility sign-offs before the permit

The City of Eustis Building Department, on East Orange Avenue, wants proof that nothing live is left connected before a building comes down. Its demolition checklist calls for sign-offs from each utility on the lot: electric, phone, gas, water and sewer. If the house was never on gas or sewer, that part drops off, but everything that serves the lot has to be accounted for.

This is the part of a Eustis teardown that takes the most patience. Some accounts are in the owner's name, so the utility may need to hear from you directly before it schedules a disconnect. We tell you exactly which calls are yours, chase the rest ourselves, and keep the letters together so the permit application goes in complete the first time instead of bouncing back.

Wells, septic and houses from the 1980s

Eustis mixes in-town streets with rural parcels, and plenty of those lots run on a well, a septic tank, or both. When either one is on the property, the Health Department signs off too. We locate the well and the tank on the walkthrough so neither one gets crushed or buried by accident.

The Census median build year in Eustis is 1986, and a good share of homes here are older than that. Asbestos is handled under Florida Statute 469, and when it comes out, a Florida DEP notice goes in at least 10 working days before work starts. After that the structure is broken down, loaded on our trucks and hauled to the Lake County Central Solid Waste Facility in Tavares, the only county site that takes demolition debris.

Eustis FAQ

Common questions

My Eustis house is on septic. What happens to the tank during demolition?
A septic system on the lot means the Health Department has to sign off as part of the Eustis demolition permit. We find the tank on the walkthrough, keep machines off it until the approved plan is in place, and handle it the way the sign-off requires. A well on the property gets the same treatment.
Do I have to call the utilities myself?
Sometimes. Accounts in your name may need your call or authorization before a disconnect is scheduled. We give you a short list of who to call and what to say, then handle the coordination and paperwork for the rest. The permit cannot be issued until every utility on the lot has signed off.
My house was built around 1980. Does it need an asbestos check?
Yes. Houses from that era can contain asbestos in flooring, ceilings, siding and pipe wrap. Eustis requires asbestos to be handled under Florida Statute 469, with a Florida DEP notice filed before work starts. We set up the survey early so the 10 working day notice period does not hold up your schedule.
What does structure demolition cost in Eustis?
Most single-family teardowns are down and hauled off in one to three days once permits and utility disconnects clear. We crush the structure, load it onto our own trucks, and grade the lot clean. Every property is different, so the only honest number is one we give you after walking the site. Call 407-443-2863 for a free, no-obligation estimate in Eustis.
