What the Deltona Lakes build-out left behind
What began as the Deltona Lakes development in 1962 is now one of the biggest residential cities in this part of Central Florida. The median home here was built in 1988, so much of the city is now old enough to need real work. That shapes what we get called for. Pools from the first decades of building are leaking or unused. Driveways and slabs have cracked. Families on big lots want to add a garage or a room. And because a lot of the city sits on rolling, lake-dotted karst ground, drainage problems are common, with water sliding off a higher lot and pooling against a lower one. Pool removals, concrete tear-outs, pads for additions and drainage digs make up most of our Deltona calendar.
Deltona permits and where the debris goes
The City of Deltona Building Services Division, 2345 Providence Blvd, 386-878-8660, runs one of the more detailed demolition processes in Volusia County. It wants a site survey showing every building, pool, septic tank and well, Volusia County Health inspections for septic and well abandonment, pre-demolition utility inspections, silt fence, and a final once the lot is sodded or seeded. Tree removal needs its own permit with a tree survey and replacement math. Debris from Deltona goes to the county's West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand or the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange, at $41.09 a ton as of October 1, 2026. We run it there on our own trucks and include the fee in our price.
