The City of Deltona Building Services Division, at 2345 Providence Blvd and 386-878-8660, issues the permit. The application needs a written scope of work and a site survey showing every building, pool, septic tank and well on the lot. If the property has septic or a well, Volusia County Health has to inspect the abandonment. Plumbing, electrical and gas each need a pre-demolition inspection, and silt fence has to be up before the building comes down.
There is also a state step. Florida DEP wants an asbestos notice filed at least 10 working days before demolition starts. We build that lead time into the schedule from day one, because missing it is one of the most common reasons a teardown gets pushed back. Septic, wells and what is under the lot
